My approach is individually tailored to help you expand and grow in self-awareness, build on inner strength and utilise your own unique resources with the view to promote greater sense of inner freedom and psychological growth.
In sessions we work together to build on insight and understanding of what is underlying the challenges that bring you to therapy. We look at what is causing you difficulty and how this is impacting on your life and well-being. This would involve looking into and exploring in more depth your thoughts and feelings that might feel confusing and/or conflicting and in the process bring about more clarity. If appropriate we may explore implementing alternative ways of being that are more in tune with your truth and who you are in your nature.
More in-depth psychotherapy would involve looking back at your past history with the view to gain more insight into how your past life experiences might be informing your current difficulties and impacting on your relationships. We would also be looking into and exploring any patterns in relationship dynamics and making sense of your own responses and behaviours.
You may find that having someone unbiased to talk to about your experiences helps to clarify and aids to uncover and piece together aspects of your ways of being that form a bigger picture and impact on various areas of your personal and professional life.
I like to work combining mind, body and spirit by bringing together mindfulness, inquiry into experience of felt sense and use of imagery when appropriate to facilitate a more wholesome holding. We attend to what emerges in the present moment, paying attention to the immediate experience and the dynamic of therapeutic relationship.
Mindfulness and relaxation techniques can be incorporated as and when it would be of benefit to facilitate a more ‘present to here and now’ way of being experience.
